Nestled in the valley at the Great Rattling depot on the mighty Exploits River is the Lion Max Simms memorial Camp. The location offers a diversity of functions in the spring fall and winter for business meetings, retreats, educational student and teacher development days or church rentals. Social gatherings such as snowmobiling groups or weddings and reunions have utilized the camp to avail of a complete package for accommodations, meals and privacy on the spacious 25 acres surrounding the picturesque facility.

 

The camp offers 38 rooms and can accommodate 96 people at capacity. The fully licensed commercial kitchen and dining room are staffed with experienced cooks and kitchen staff to serve you a delicious start and end to your day. Designed as a camp for special needs, the location is housed under one roof and is completely accessible to meet the physical needs of individuals availing of the facility. Common rooms include a gymnasium recreation area adjoined to a games room with pool tables, ping pong, and shuffle board for the after hours socializing. The Terry Fox, AJ Baker and Jack Badcock rooms are for your added comfort and relaxation with inviting furniture and satellite tv. Wi-Fi via satellite connection is also available in common areas of the camp.
